The W-TRIP project (Web Tourism Research & Intelligence Platform) aims to create the first nationwide centralized information point for tourism in Greece, offering a multitude of KPIs and data related to tourism. This information will cover both historical data and future forecasts, leveraging artificial intelligence and neural network algorithms.
The general purpose of the project is the development of an innovative Business Intelligence (BI) Reporting platform to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of businesses in the tourism sector, while also providing a valuable decision-making tool for entrepreneurs both in Greece and abroad. Through the innovative W-TRIP platform, users will be able to understand trends in tourism, such as destinations, preferences, services, and accommodation.
The information provided will help stakeholders make informed choices regarding where and what type of investments to make, according to current trends. The system will be open to new information providers, such as ferry companies, airlines, tour operators, who will be able to connect and provide their data.
As an incentive for providing information to the system, a "token" will be created through blockchain. Information providers will receive these tokens as a reward, which they can redeem for access to advanced algorithms and targeted forecasts or additional data that is not publicly available. Tokens can also be purchased by users who do not provide information but wish to conduct analyses.
Project Budget: €604,240 | EU Funding: €395,003
